How do i update my status on twitter through sms (text) message?

I can get updates from other people and everything, but i cannot figure out how to update my own status on my phone through text message

You'll need to first add and verify your phone.

The process is as follows:

1. Login to Twitter

2. Go to http://twitter.com/devices

3. Enter your phone number on the devices page.

The phone number must be in the format: countrycode areacode phonenumber with no spaces and no leading zeroes.

For example, US numbers look like: +12125551122, where
+1 is the US countrycode
212 is the area code
5551122 is the phone number

4. After you enter your phone number in the required format, Twitter will display a verification code on screen.

5. Use your mobile phone to send the verification code via sms to Twitter's number. For example, in the US, Twitter's number is 40404. In Canada, it's 21212. The correct number will be displayed on screen.

6. After you've sent the verification code via sms, refresh the screen. If the verification was successful, Twitter will no longer ask you to send the verification code

7. From that point on, any message you send to Twitter's number will appear in your account as an update.
