PLEASE someone help me with an english assessment?
Basically Im 14, Im in year 10, and I've started my english GCSE, I had a spoken language controlled assessment last month ago and in that assessment we had to answer a question and the question was how Texting and social networking are ‘destroying’ our language and how far do we agree with this opinion, we had to write an essay answering this question and my teacher said i should consider other attitudes to multimodal communication and I should also use direct evidence from transcripts of spoken and multimodal communication. and she also said to me to this task requires you to think about the different opinions, including your own, on how language is changing as a consequence of multimodal communication such as Facebook, Twitter, texting and other forms of instant messaging and she also said you will need to be able to demonstrate the effects by making comparisons between multimodal and spoken language using examples from transcripts... Now basically I didn't really do that so I got an F which was really terrible, I was trying to get the best in the class, and it turned out I got the worse, I was so EXTREMELY angry and sad and she said Im re-doing it at somepoint at this year. but I need some opinions and help on how to write it out, PLEASE someone help me write it out and tell me what you would write so I can get an idea of what to do, Pleaseee someone help me, I need to pass english, its a compulsory subject

Make sure to write about how the words are being shortened e.g "wat u up 2?" It's laziness.

Hope this helps you a little bit Big Grin

Your own question is an excellent example of subject of the question you were asked.

The building blocks of language are spelling, grammer, punctuation, etc. Your question ignores grammer, the capitalisation is terrible, you've no sentance structure and no paragraphs, the spelling is average and the use of apostrophes a bit hit and miss. That's all very typical of the state of langauge on social media.

I suggest you use your own question as an example. Discuss how you used and misused language. Take some other examples from social media (I recommend you use "official" facebook and twitter pages/streams that represent companies, organisations or celebrities for this - NOT those of friends, family, etc).

Then go on to discuss the effects that the use and misuse of language on social media have on how easy the question is to read and to understand. Useful point to discuss are that spelling isn't generally that important to meaning. Readability is vastly improved by the correct use of sentances, capitalisation and paragraphs. Abbreviations extend the use of language when social media when the media is restrictive (eg. twitter) but are only of value when they are widely and correctly understood (you could reference David Cameron and the LOL story).

That should get you started.
