how do you use twitter?

I have twitter and ive followed people and all but im kinda confused about the hash tagging and everything.. help!

Hi you must put @TwitterName - when you would like to send someone a tweet. # <--- Hastags are seen by everyone on twitter, it is public.

If u want to follow someone you must type: follow @username <----put the person twitter name after the @ and you will begin to follow them. If their twitter page is blocked they must approve or deny you the ability to follow them. Hope this helps.

Remember this is a social network whatever you post will be public!!!!

When you follow people their tweets appear on your homepage.
When you hash tag, you are writing something that is related to your tweet.
When things trend, people over the world are hash tagging certain things.
You can click @ Connect (top of the page) to see if anyone has tweeted you.
If you like somebody's tweet, you can Retweet it yourself, and on your profile it says the person who originally tweeted it, but that you retweeted it. If that makes sense.
