How come some facebook posts have # signs in them?
I've noticed that recently a lot of facebook posts have had the # sign in them, and they don't make sense with the sentence, so probably not intentional. What is this?

Well people are trying to have hash tags like in tumblr and twitter. Like #SWAG. This would be posted as a tag for people searching for swag in twitter or tumblr. People are trying to be cool

Its just people using the "hash tag" like they do on twitter. On twitter its used to tag a word or group of words for people to see what other people are talking about under that same topic. But facebook doesn't have this feature, yet facebook users still use the tag like it does. Just stupid trends is all.

You can link Twitter and Facebook together so whenever you tweet something it shows up as a status update in Facebook. The hashtags you put in Twitter don't come up as anything in Facebook, so they just stay there and are useless on the Facebook platform.
