How to approach an music artist?

I am a music producer and I need to get in contact with a rapper. I have him on twitter and he has followed me and I have him on youtube but I have sent him posts/messages to check my instumentals out but he never replies. It might be that I am not conversing probably, what should I actually say to get him to talk to me?

You need to approach these artists in a friendly way and make sure you make a friendship with them first before anything else. Don't just go spamming people like "check out my beats" and stuff like that or they will probably ignore it. Listen to their music and tell em what you like and start a conversation with them away from your beats then once u establish that, you can ask him/her about your beats if they can check it out. I'm sure friends wouldn't ignore that. I found this out from reading all over the internet.
