Has Twitter just become a place for bad humor?

I don't want to sound too uptight but all I can see on Twitter lately is people making rather terrible attempts at being funny in the darkest way possible. Some of them will tweet about just anything as long as their sarcastic and unfunny take on the matter is heard.
Am I the only one getting annoyed by this or are some of you also tired of this?

same!! SOMETIMES it can be funny but people can go too far. also, some people just sit on twitter and send some celebrities and other people hate messages which is cruel too. but eh, i still love twitter
