Why would he say this then basically ignore me?

I was talking to a guy, we'd not met but were planning to. We live 2/3 hours apart. He seemed to really like me and I liked him but we thought it seemed silly to like each other so much having not met and living hours apart. We last text 2 days ago and said it was awkward but he said he liked me too much to let go so we decided we'd try to meet up. The last thing he text was it was complicated (the situation) and I agreed. I've not heard from him since he's been on his twitter but hasn't spoke to me.

Why did he say he liked me too much to let me go then not talk to me since? I've left him alone as I text him last but I just want to know why.

Well to say that he likes you too much to let you go, I don't think he would be kidding around. It sounds like he really did like you. To just stop speaking to you like that is pretty crazy. But he didn't stop without saying anything, he told you that it was complicated. You think he was talking about that particular meeting each other situation but he probably meant that something going on with him right now is making things complicated which is why he hasn't spoken to you since. It probably has nothing to do with you, he might be having life issues. All you can do is wait until he replies, which he should at some point. No use trying to contact him , he'll talk to you when he's ready. This is all just my guess no ,I may not be correct. The only way to figure it all out is to wait for his reply. But don't just sit around staring at your phone , get on with things and he'll reply when he's ready.
