Help with new Twitter account?
I just made a twitter account and I havent followed anyone, but it is giving me suggestions of people I know? I did go on twitter to see which friends are on, and I looked at their page but now I feel like since I made a twitter after looking at their pages, that they will be notified or something and I will look like a creep for a looking at them when i didnt have an account. Is this true?

People cannot follow you if they don't know where to find you. Make sure your Twitter page is linked to from every single one of your online homes. This includes your blog, Facebook profile, personal blog, and so on. If you have a blog, make sure the Twitter link is clearly displayed--a large, attractive Twitter graphic draws attention to the link, or you might prefer to leave a message at the bottom of every post, asking people to follow you.

Use Retweeting
Ask your present followers to retweet some of your tweets--but don't overdo this or your followers may become annoyed. Save this for your best tweets--your most insightful, funny, or useful thoughts, or links to fascinating or important web pages. When your follower retweets you, your name will appear in that tweet, and might lead more people back to you. If you think your followers don't know what retweeting is, simply tell them.

Complete your Bio
The bio page appears right on your twitter page, and if a way for you to let the casual browser know who you are, what you are about, and what they can expect if they follow you. A blank bio may give the impression that you don't want to be followed or that you're not serious about communicating with your followers. The information you present in the bio also shows up in the suggested users lists, so be sure to take some time over this and craft a bio that's accurate and concise.

Use Hash Tags
Hash tags are a simple way for tweeps to find tweets on a particular topic of interest. To use them, simply place a "#" symbol before a word that sums up the tweet. For example, if you write a lot about mixed martial arts, the hash tag #mma would be appropriate. This way, anyone who searches for that hash tag is more likely to find your tweets and check you out. If the person likes what he sees in your bio and your recent tweets, he might follow you.
