How do i get rid of this search bar?
I am running windows 7 and have a search bar that is showing up on internet explorer. The logo on the search bar looks like the windows logo twisted. It has a drop down feature that gives me options for search here, facebook, imdb, amazon, wikipedia, and twitter. I would like to remove it but can not figure out how. I have tried add/remove programs but can not find anything that would be this toolbar.

Hi Anthony,

If you are using Internet Explorer 8, you may try disabling the Search box using the steps below:
1. Run Local Group Policy Editor (GPEdit.msc).
2. Navigate to Local Computer Policy -> User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Internet Explorer.
3. In the settings list in the right pane, locate and double click on Prevent Internet Explorer search box from displaying option. Set its value to Enabled.
4. Click Ok.
5. Close and re-open Internet Explorer.
6. To re-enable and re-display the search box, set the value to Not Configured or Disabled.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and Regards
Priyanka S
