Well think about it, the fact that you are asking yahoo answers instead of thinking for yourself is probably because your thoughts are consumed more by your social life (twitter, facebook, texting) thus deems you unable to focus enough energy into thinking up your own topic sentence.

But I would say, that social life serves as a distraction to academics because school gets in the way of hanging out with friends. But if a person is deprived of friendship, it would be equally as destructive to your academic life. Both are important for growing as a healthy being but a healthy balance must be made in order to prevail in both.
