Desperate for help? anyone good with computers? stars for best answer?
I recently bought a Nikon DSLR, really nice and also takes amazing photos. These pictures were 100% clear until I tried uploading them to Twitter. I noticed the pixels suddenly became blurry. I tried re-sizing but that didn't help it did make it smaller but I just don't understand why this is happening. So then, I tried uploading a new profile picture on Facebook. It came out clear , until you exited the picture. Like if i commented on something or whatever my icon was super blurry. I just need any help, advise, or websites that could help fix this problem. Also, my camera was set to 16M which was like 2600 X 2000 something, very big .. yet the picture size looks normal when i uploaded it just to my computer? Any help would be so very appreciated being that I already took over 200 photos. Thanks!

The size is normal because the websites are resizing the photos on the fly. They are blurred because when you crush thousands of pixels down to just a few hundred, that is what happens. You can try compressing the images yourself in a good graphics program, or just accept how they look when small. As long as they look good when you display them larger on your monitor, you should be fine.

When I need to compress images, I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Be sure to compress COPIES, not your originals. Picture Manager lets you easily compress multiple images for websites or email attachment, and there is very little degradation of the pictures. I use it to post to my etsy site, where details and clarity are essential.
