My town is super racist please help?

I'm a 16 year old girl and people are banning a mosque to be built in my town (southern California). I'm catholic and young and know this is wrong. Might as well ban churches of Christianity after the Norway bombing. Is the world like this? I hate my town. How can I fight back to get this reversed? I have Muslim friends and they are the sweetest peaches ever. People can't do this. Its wrong. How can I get this racism to slow down?

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS. Start a group. Contact the media. Not the local media, the national media. But NOT until you have a group going. File for the right to protest it. Get in contact via twitter, facebook, etc, with people all over the world! LOTS of people will support you, I know it!

You can try contacting some big civil rights non-profit organizations. perhaps give a civil rights lawyer a call!

Google civil rights non-profit and see if there's anyone you can contact.

I used to say, why doesn't somebody do something about that? Then I realized: I am somebody.
