Are you deleting your Instagram account?
The new terms of service states that they can sell your photos to anyone without your consent and you cannot opt out of it. A lot of people have deleted or will delete their Instagram account. For those who like to make all their photos look like they live in the 70's, there are other alternatives like Snapseed and Camera+. Also Twitter and Flickr have added photo filtering options to their mobile apps. But I was with Instagram since the beginning. It's a shame to just leave like that. I was on it before all my friends started to join it. Sure I waived my privacy rights when I first got online, but selling my content and not cutting me a check is what I don't approve of. When people use the photos I post online for free, I don't mind. We all do it anyways but when another company sells my stuff without my permission then that is worse. Should I stay with Instagram or delete it and not look back?

You should get out!

I admire your willingness to leave something you have been a part of a long time. Companies force ridiculous demands on their customers and users, and people need to stand up and take a stand against poor policies and decisions. I have done this a number of times myself and in various scenarios, and it's always a shame, but you should exercise your power of choice (while we still have some left). If these companies are not going to offer choices or acceptable alternatives they deserve to lose customers and ultimately their business.

I considered signing up for an Instagram account as recently as a couple weeks ago or so, but I had not done so and I'm glad I didn't, because if I had I would have deleted my account immediately, and now I will not sign up for it at all.

Stick by your guns, and take note....our world is going to make drastic changes to our freedom and privacy. It's happening little by little and in various places.

Step away from this and find an acceptable alternative! I support your position and also know the 'pain' as well.

Instagram is a FREE site. Do you realise the cost to keep a hugely popular site like that running? I mean sure, they get money from advertising and it more than covers the costs but at the end of the day it's a business. Why shouldn't they be allowed to make money off you? I'm sure the happiness you get from using Instagram is quite considerable otherwise you wouldn't be on it in the first place, yet you would deprive them a way of making extra money in which most of it would be put back into the site to make it a more enjoyable experience for YOU anyway...? And I'm sure you aren't putting any photo's of dear importance on their because like you say, other users can steal them anyway so what's the problem if Instagram wanted to sell one of them?

If Instagram wasn't going to do this but instead charged a fee for the use of their site in which, like I say, you get pleasure out of using, would you pay? Or do you want your cake and eat it too?
