Is it useless to have an iPod touch and an iPhone?
it'd kinda cost me the same thing so i thought about buying an iphone to replace my current fugly phone, but the thing is that i already have the newest ipod touch, so isnt it useless?
or can they be used for different purposes ?
i have a LOT of games and songs, i basically have 2GB left on my 32GB ipod.
im also not interested in getting an non-apple product
and for those who misread what i said, im considering a smartphone simply because it costs the same thing as a normal phone, so i believe buying a ipod touch wanst useless at all

Get an iPhone. It has all the ipod touch features combined with phone features. You can do everything on the one device.

Use your iPod to store all your music and vids etc, and your phone for all the important stuff. That way your phone isn't bogged down by all the crap you put on it

It is useless because both devices do the same things. Purchase a galaxy phone or sell the iPod and get an iphone. But regardless you can just use the ipod for music and thats itand use the iphone for everything else.

no, because you dont want to put alot of data on your iPhone / iPod, because it will make it slow, use the iPod for games / apps / music (That doesnt use wifi)
iPhone for calls, text, facebook, and SOME apps, like twitter, and instagram

This was a question you should have asked before you blew the $299 on the iPod - "is it useless to get the new iPod Touch?" And the answer would have been - do you have a smartphone or any plans to get one in the near future? If so, then getting any iPod makes very little sense since a smartphone can basically do what an iPod Touch can do without being tied to iTunes and at least a number of the phones can use microSD cards which none of Apple's products support and they can only connect to the internet using wifi. IPods on the other hand can't do everything that smartphones can do - their advantage is that you don't get tied to a data plan (which you've nullified once you've decided that you WILL get a smartphone.)

Now you're stuck with an iPod you don't need. You may be able to get something by selling it, but not what you paid.

strictly speaking, unless you can point to a unique use for each device that's worth spending the purchase price to get it, then yes, it is a waste.
