The $250,000 includes married couples so if you are single and earn $125,000 you are also included in the rich category and your taxes are going to sky rocket. Maybe you did not understand that going in but it is kind of like getting a traffic ticket for something you were not aware was even a violation. What did that cop say? Something like ignorance is no excuse so you must pay or go straight to jail. Gee, how many of you now have buyers remorse? So besides going over the cliff and being hit with a $3500 tax increase you are now considered rich so you will also be paying the rich tax.

Next time you think it is cool and trendy to vote for someone based on their social views and color remember how much it cost you to support them. I learned years ago that there are givers and takers in this world and in this situation it turns out that the giver really turns out to be the taker. He kind of cornered the market no pun intended.

I know it is sad, as the value of the Dollar decreases our salaries do not increase so in 1965 You could buy a house for 20,000 if you only made like 10,000 a year

ignoring the fact that there are different guidelines when filing married or single, of course.

but hey, I'm no tax expert. I've just been doing my own for ten years.

do you know what the AVERAGE is? something around 40k-50k? do you know why that number is so low when there are so many movie stars, athletes, and CEOs making what they do? it's because so many americans are making less than 20k a year.

I'm sorry you would have such a hard time living off of 125k a year. for someone like me, that is way more than enough. I could give 75% of that away and live well. the question isn't about "well it's their money" it's "why do you feel so freakin bad for those well off?" I'm not bitter that they have money that I don't, but I am certainly not going to feel pity for them.

I thought it meant you were considered upper class. I didn't know rich was a monetary thing. Like you can be rich with life, rich with faith, like you are rich with insanity and hatred.
