I need some help on how to get my ex-boyfriend back, or find out why he is acting the way that he is!?

I broke up with my boyfriend of about 1 year last month, although I want to get over it, I still really love him. Our families are really close so i always have to see him during the week. Whenever I am with him he always goes on about how pretty and hot all these other girls are and I have noticed that he has been having 'deep emotional' conversations with other girls openly on twitter and facebook. Now, he keeps telling me that we are still best friends/ soulmates yet he barely talks me and when we do he is either spiteful or it is just awkward. I want a way to try and make him want me back, as a boyfriend or either just as my best friend. Whenever I talk to any of his friends he seems to get all moody and jealous and I have noticed at parties he is constantly flirting with girls and then coming to tell me how much he likes them. But the weird thing is that when we are together sometimes, he is the nicest guy ever. I just don't understand how he doesn't enjoy my company in the way he used to

I would really appreciate it if someone would help me, as i don't want to have to cut this amazing guy out of my life.
I really want to have him back as my boyfriend as i just cant stop thinking about him, help me ?!

Well I have recently been 'dumped' by a girl and well I'm trying to get her back slowly maybe he's trying the same or is just trying to be friends I'm nice to everyone at my school except theres that one girls her names Erica she really amazing I keep complimenting her but when I'm around friends it actually slot harder for guys to show people how they really feel cos it's kind of unnatural for a guy to go straight up to a girl and say something without getting to know them abut so maybe he's doing the whole step by step thing he'll eventually start being nice around friends then in public then with anyone around then all the the time them bam you'd are back together unless you push him away except compliments it's actually frustrating for us guys to find out how to explain how we really feel like I'm alot better talking on Facebook except for with close friends
