What if you had a MASSIVE crush on a teacher 20 years ago...?

What if you had a MASSIVE crush on a teacher 20 years ago...?
... he was intelligent, edgy, slightly scary, quietly cool and not at all the obvious crush. He taught physics, was highly knowledgeable and a driven no-nonsense teacher, who would bang the boss and clamp down on the lab desks if there was ANY noise, and was intolerant of anything but exemplary behaviour. But he verbally rewarded good work, and had a dark, witty sense of humour he exhibited only on his terms, if the class was going well. So, suddenly it comes into your head that you might find him on a social network and just see if he still exists and is as cool as always, then.... on twitter... you find the exact same person (married with three kids) is now a tweet-addicted banal status updater, who has an app to count how many followers he has, daily. And they are mainly tweet-addicted banal younger women who he exchanges ditzy useless chitter chatter with. And he has very little else to say about life at all otherwise.

SO my question is: do I still just stop and say hi for old time's sake, as he was and is still my hero of a teacher! Or do I just allow the shattering of a nice old dream to be what it is, and just shake my head at how different a rock-star image in your head can be from reality...? Big Grin

The latter. Leave the past in the past and enjoy your dreams of your old crush as you used to see him.
