i would tell her in person and not on a social network.. those aren't usually the most secure places.. and the only way you can use body language is if you tell her in person.. so i say in person

Too express it though body language alone, would take a bit longer and not all are good at reading body language, so you might leave her a little confused or not even close to the mark.
Fb and the rest, i don't think should be used in this situation, best you tell her face to face, then you might get a reading too and gauge her reaction, can't do either of those by computer contact.
