I wish to get hold of every single past episode of the former Brookside soap opera on DVD. Is it possible?
I am a real fan of the former Merseyside soap opera, Brookside, formerly screened on Channel 4 between 2nd November 1982 - 4th November 2003. I understand there were 2,915 episodes in total.

Although I recently purchased for my birthday a copy of the newly released 30th anniversary DVD, Brookside Most Memorable Moments, I am not satisfied just with that and want to get hold of every single episode on DVD. This is especially as Brookie will not ever be returning, and the close, now just called Brookside, has real people and families living in the refurbished houses.

I am also willing and happy to pay serious money for this, so shall be very grateful if you fellow Brookie fans could advise me on how best to go around this. Would I need to contact Phil Redmond or Channel 4 direct etc?

Please respond here, email me on: andre.pettersson@yahoo.co.uk or twitter me on: @PetterssonAndre

Many thanks

Andre.
Many thanks for the responses so far.

With current and discontinued soap operas such as Corrie, Brookie, Crossroads, is every single episode ' kept somewhere on file,' (even in the back of a dusty TV storage archive), or have most been deleted, so even if I wanted to, I could not physically get hold of every single episode, as they have either been deleted or not longer exist etc?

I have calculated that if I got all 2,915 episodes and watched around two hours worth each day, I could see the entire 21 year series in around 2 years. When it was showing, it was 30 mins twice a week.

Sadly there are very few episodes of Brookside available.
The only one's that I have been aware of are listed on
Amazon, but some of those are still on VHS.

You may get a better answer if you contact Channel 4, but
I too am a Brookie fan and have not found anything.

Brookside was made by Mersey Television who was bought by All3media in 2006 and renamed Lime Pictures a year later, I suggest you contact them - http://limepictures.com/contact
