My computer is Dell. I have the disk that says "already installed on your computer. Use to reinstall software." so if I wipe out my hard drive ( which, btw, how do I do that ) do I just put that cd in afterwards and everything will be back to functional , internet and all???
OBVIOUSLY I will lose everything -_- that's kinda the point. All that is on my computer is viruses and stupid spam & JUNK. So I WANT to lose EVERYTHING and start over FRESH. But my question is , is that the right disk to restore the computer to its default? Like with internet and paint and notepad and stuff?

If you wipe your hard drive you will lose everything. Don't unless it is really necessary.

Hello, My name is Vijay and I work for Dell Social Media Team.

Here are the steps to restore it back to factory settings:

1. Make sure that data from all drives is backed up in any other computer. (If you want to save the data)
2. Restart system and keep on tapping F8 when Dell logo appears.
3. Select Repair your Computer and on next windows click on next.
4. Select Dell data safe local & emergency backup.
5. Select 2nd option "Select other system backup & more options" and click on next.
6. Select "restore my computer" and click on next.
7. Select factory image and click on next.
8. Select 2nd option "Restore without preserving new or changed files." and click on next.
9. Select Yes, Continue and click on next.

Once the process is gets to 100% then system will restart.

Select "Ask me later" and it will reach desktop.

It should resolve the issue.

Please note that this PC Restore will only work if you did not formatted your hard drive using a windows disk.

Feel free to reply on this blog.

Thanks & Regards,
