Does anyone know if this NSA messagel is legit?
So I received a message from this NSA thing and I am not ssure what it means.

The House of Representatives is now poised to vote on the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA), which would allow companies to monitor our online communications and share private information about users with the government.
CISPA would let companies bypass all existing privacy law as long as they claim a "good faith" belief that they are doing so for cybersecurity purposes. These exemptions would allow a huge trove of data to end up in the government's hands with no judicial oversight.
House leadership is pushing for a vote on CISPA this week. Please call your Representative now and urge them not to sacrifice the civil liberties of Internet users in the name of cybersecurity legislation.
Click here to find your Representative's phone number and a short script of suggested talking points.
Once you've made the call, please share this on your social networking sites and ask your friends to join you. We need to get as many calls as possible today, before the legislation can be rushed through, so please help spread the word.
Thanks for all you do to help us defend digital rights,

PS - Tell us how it went! Send email reports to action@eff.org or tweet the results to the @eff Twitter account.

Does anyone received the same message from them? If so, should we be worried about it or is it just some kind of another spam mail? Please reply to this message if you guys have a clue. Thanks!

As far as the email itself being legit I don't know? If it is from @eff.org then it should be fine. But yes, this is an issue that is being discussed right now and it is a very very bad bill that should never see light of day if people value what little privacy they have left.

The message itself has legitimate content insofar as it's a current issue that's being debated and there are campaigns to get you to write to your representatives to get the CISPA (Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act) dropped.

I don't see any reference to the "NSA" in your message, so I don't know where you got that from. The EFF is the Electronic Frontier Foundation and it campaigns for privacy and freedom online. It's against laws that give the government a right to snoop on people's private emails and internet activitity, and since CISPA is one of the biggest incursions into online privacy and freedom ever, it's obviously something they're trying to stop.

Is it spam? SPAM is unsolicited email, so if you've never signed up for it, yes. Just because they're the EFF, that doesn't mean when they do massive mailouts they don't, accidentally or intentionally, mail a few people who never meant to sign up for it.
