Is making friends with random people on twitter normal?

It is normal to make friends with random people on twitter, yes. Especially if you don't physically know them. Sometimes it is easier to be yourself, or not yourself, to people you don't actually know. And there is nothing wrong with this, as long as you don't plan to meet them in person alone. If you EVER plan on meeting someone you met online, have someone or a group of people with you. Because the person online could say they are one person, and end up being someone totally different. And you don't want to get hurt, so it is best to be careful.
As far as falling in love with someone you met online- im not so sure about that. I don't think you can fall in love with someone online unless you actually met them, because what if they are lying? What if they are making a story up for you? You may fall in love with the person you THINK you know, but until you are sure that they are who you say you are... you're probably just in love with a personality.
