Honestly, it's their choice. Some people rather not have one and that's totally fine.

I never had Twitter and I deleted my facebook exactly a year ago and keep in touch with my close friends by phone. I actually think people who have social media and spend time bragging about their lives and posting stupid pictures of themselves whilst demanding attention are "strange".

I deactivated my facebook a couple months ago and I never had a Twitter account.
I'm about to completely just delete facebook. It's just a waste of time honestly.

I don't have a Twit account and i deleted my Facebook account but i do have an online presence. My friends can either email me or IM me or they can call me on my phone. You know, real friends who actually give a sh!t about you more than the fact that you're another notch on their 'Facebook friends' belt.

I mean, am i really supposed to care what facebook friend number 204's dinner looks like before he tucks into it?
