Can you use the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair hair masque overnight?
The instructions say 7 minutes. Would i be better to leave it in overnight for greater results or will leaving it in longer than the recommended time worse for your hair?

Thank you!

Follow directions.
I'll let YA POSTERS respond about hair mask: "i have naturally black hair but i hate it so i dye it brown + blonde highlights .. and bcuz of that it got really super dry .. i use olive oil and bunch of different oils every week ( as a hair mask ) , and they do help but not that much."
"Avocado masks are made to make soft and shiny. I made one and put some jojoba oil in it and it made my hair feel really dry after I washed it out, even before I rinsed it my hair felt like straw and it was soft before I did the avocado mask."

And one from bad hot oil treatment:
"I used a store bought hot oil treatment a week ago and the results I had were horrible. From the minute I rinsed it out I could tell my hair was in worse shape. It turned out dry, brittle, and very tangled. What can I do to fix the effects of the got oil treatment?"

And one with seriously damaged hair:
My hair is ridiculously damaged, mostly due to the fact that I've been coloring it or bleaching it for several years now. A few years ago, my hair was so badly damaged after a color reconstruction that it all broke off to about 4". Since then, it's gotten longer, and I've taken it back to the closest color to my natural one that I can get it, but it is still so broken that I don't know what else to do. I've done hair treatments, hair masks, used several different deep conditioners, moroccan oil, and I only straighten it once a week- if that. Nothing seems to be working, and I just want healthy hair again.

And yet another example:
Okay, so yesterday afternoon, I put some hot oil on my hair, to wash out in the evening. But I forgot and I went to bed with it still in. I woke up and my scalp felt really itchy in an intense and painful way. I went to have a shower, and when I stepped under it, putting my head under the water. It hurt so much. It was like my scalp was burning. I thought it would just go away, so I put shampoo on my hair. It even hurt when I touched my head. I put my head under the shower again, and it hurt even more. I din't even bother putting the conditioner in, because it hurt so much. I don't know why it's like this???

"You find people oiling hair every single day, the hair sweats and it doesn’t get washed. What do you think happens? It goes limp and becomes thin because it is not breathing,” Shamillah Mohammed, a hairstylist at SUQA, says.

Hair products, or hair masks, are not made of glue to fix, prevent reverse hair from getting damaged, they may even cause hair loss. Heat & chemicals are hair's worst enemies. The hair industry is a trillion dollar business and they also DO NOT GIVE MONEY BACK GUARANTEE for damaged hair or hair loss caused by 'abuse'.

You get more benefits from good hair care, and eating all the right foods from Mother Nature.

I asked this question on Macadamia's Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/macadamiahair) and they responded back with this:

"Hi there! The Deep Repair Masque is designed to be effective in 7-10 minutes to reconstruct and repair damaged hair. You can leave it on longer and there won't be any negative effects, but after 10 minutes most of the infusion of repair has already happened."

Hope that helps! By the way, if you have any questions on their products, you can ask them directly on their Facebook or Twitter. They usually answer back right away (within a day or so).
