Would companies like AIG handle private Social Security accounts? I don't know too much about the plan to privatize Social Security, I'm just assuming privatizing means private companies would hold the accounts.
If a private company were holding my account and the company fails, who would save my account in a completely free market system with no government intervention?

It would be like your 401 or a ROTH account , the money would be invested in stocks and Bonds , It's a risk yes but , IMHO better than what we have now , Depending on who you listen to Social Security will be broke by 2020 to 2025 . The stock market has it's ups and Downs so in the short run you may lose but over time like 20 years you would do better .
