What is the point of Twitter?
I know celebrities use it to keep in-touch with fans and such, but how about regular civilians themselves? Twitter is like the same thing as a Facebook status, isn't it? I know people who've switched from facebook to twitter, but facebook is better, in my opinion, because it keeps you more wholly connected to old friends, families, etc.

I suggest you just stick to facebook, It's just a stream of people saying when they are eating or going to the bathroom

fb is about your general day and life and stuff. twitter posting trivial things that no one needs to know every 2 minutes
example 2:30pm- I'm hungry. I'ma make a sammich 2:32pm- yum. sammich. ham and cheese ftw. 2:36pm- finished my sammich now. 2;39pm- I miss my sammich |

I think that Facebook is great for personal use but if you're into marketing your business on the Web, Twitter can help spread the word about it like wildfire ( without having to get up close and personal with people like you do on Facebook ). I think, you may try to test both and see which one works best for you.

Twitter might have started out as a place where people just simply say what they think, but it's evolved! People share information and news.
So many people ask this question and the truth is it differs for everyone. Here's a post that describes the real value behind Twitter: http://www.heavychef.com/the-real-value-of-twitter/ I think it'll give you some perception as to what people do on Twitter and why they are on it. Personally, I can't live without it It's where I get my daily dose of the latest news around the world and it's where I build relationships with people for business purposes. |
