What is the opposite of a Libertarian?
A Democrat is liberal on social issues and liberal on economic issues.
A Republican is conservative on social issues and conservative on economic issues.
A Libertarian is liberal on social issues but conservative on economic issues.

Some politicians, like Joe Donnelly, are pretty conservative on social issues (ex: abortion, gay marriage, Patriot Act, etc.) but more liberal on economic issues (ex: taxes, Obamacare, free market, etc.)
What is the opposite of a Libertarian?

A Communist.

Communism is the complete elimination of all government, due to the raising of social consciousness of the population, to the point that government is no longer necessary.

Libertarianism is the complete elimination of all government, due to the reliance on the free will and personal responsibility of the population, to the point that government is no longer necessary.

So you can see they are completely opposite.

no, wait...

A libertarian is (more or less) someone who wants the government out of people's lives as much as possible.
The opposite of that (more or less) would be a statist.

No, A Democrat is not necessarily liberal on both social issues and economic issues. No, a Republican in not necessarily conservative on both social issues and economic issues. It is not that black and white. Most people, regardless of political party affiliation, have some liberal and some conservative views. The two major political parties are not opposites. That is a very simplistic view of politics.

Yes, Liberatarians tend to be more liberal on social views and more conseratives on economic issues...just like most people. There is no opposite of Liberatarian either.

I don't know , but I do know real libertarians are getting sick of loony republicans pretending to be libertarian, just because they know that no one is taking these wacko right wingers serious no more. You see them on here spouting their right wing utter crap but before or after the post they will say that they are libertarian. Why don't they know that they are usually transparent with their fakery.
