Is Cairo safe for me and my 85 year old grandad next year?
Sorry wording it better this time I'll be 16 and hell be 85 I am planning a surprise trip to Cairo with him as he used to be there in the army I was just wondering if it's safe we're just going to the markets and other historical tours like the pyramids need a reply soon please as need to book and plan

Yea, it is safe. Everyone goes for a holiday and I be living there for 6 months with my mums friend as he is Egyptian himself. I've also been to Egypt and it is a nice safe country !

Of course it is, Cairo is a very cozy city and you'll feel home everywhere you go, you'll both enjoy your stay. Also concerning the political situation -If that's what you're worried about- Protests are never in the streets everywhere, when we protest we take a certain previously announced path, and occupy a certain square (Tahrir Square)..
