What is the downside of purchasing followers on Twitter?

In short, there are many downsides to it, one being that when you purchase followers most of them are bots. Meaning they will only be on your account for a few days or so before they get banned by twitter.

As an alternative I purchased my entire twitter account on ebay. There was a seller on there selling 30 000 follower accounts for 20 bucks or so. The account I got had almost 40 000 and I used it to skyrocket my business. The upside to this is that the followers are real and wont be gone in a couple days. I think the link is here:
