Hi,

There are 3 ways to get traffic to your website.

1) If you want FAST or IMMEDIATE traffic, paid advertisement is your best choice. You can set a budget for every paid advertisement you plan to do, so it is up to you to decide what is expensive. By doing paid advertisement, your ads can be found via keywords related to your website and if people are interested in your ad, they will click on it and directed to your website. If you want REAL traffic, then your landing page and website has to match what your ad.

2) You can do SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and get traffic in the long run. SEO is an on going process and it is not easy or fast. You have to optimize your on-page SEO and earn backlinks which will help your website rank on the first page. If you want to learn more about SEO, check out this website:

3) Create a business page for your website/business on Facebook or create a twitter account and get fans or followers. Once you have a good amount, you can share your articles on these social media sites and get traffic.

1. AdWords (CPC optimization and keyword research is the key)
2. Social Media (Facebook, Twitter etc) - If you are using Twitter, try BrandChirp to target your audience better.
3. Link building but I wouldn't recommend it for a new website. I suggest letting links to build by themselves. If your website has quality traffic, you don't need link building for it.

Hope this helps.

SEO is always the best bet but there are other tricks and tips that will drive some heavy traffic. I use facebook, and Twitter to get some traffic but for the bulk of my visitors I use sites like Digg, Tumblr, and Yahoo answers. Another great tool is youtube. With video marketing we can send our site out twice as fast with epic return traffic.
