Your contacts can see all the questions and answers you post and all the questions that you star.

There are no "friends" on Y!A or Yahoo!.

Users you have added as a contact on Y!A can see all of your Q&A on your profile.

Your fans (users who have added you as a contact) on Y!A can opt to get an email every time you ask a question. There's no way to prevent that, other than not allowing fans at all or to remove a specific fan block and unblock them.

Possibly your email contacts could see your Answers posts if they are also your Y! Messenger contacts or Facebook or Twitter friends or followers, but not unless you have changed your settings.

The only time your Q&A from Answers are shared by Yahoo! outside of Answers is when you have opted to share updates. These updates are set on your Y! Profile page and they appear on Messenger to your contacts there and also to Facebook and Twitter if you have linked the accounts.

Everyone can see whatever you have posted on the Main Board but not the Q & A in a privatised Public Profile.

Your Public Profile has not been privatised so everyone can see all the Q & A in your Public Profile.
