What is the public opinion on social conservatives?
And by public, I do mean you.
Are there any stereotypes attached to them?
Are they crazy? Or do they actually hold merit?

Not trolling, I just can't figure out if being a social conservative is a good or bad thing.....
Thanks.

They're authoritarians, they don't care about morality or justice only imposing their will onto others.

Are you from America, friend?

George Bush just served two terms, if that is any indication.

Oh we will be making a killing shortly in the elections.

Being social conservative would mean making law to suit yourself and your beliefs, a total imposition of your belief system on others.
Believe what I do or go to jail.
Believe what I do or starve, let your kids go homeless, and if you or yours get sick, die in the street.

There are offshoots that are crazier than others.Jim De Mint running again for congress says women should not be allowed to be teachers if they are unmarried and pregnant. Even if they are forty. One candidate wanted to pay doctors with chickens, and hospitals with paint jobs. She wanted a return to barter.
Most are against the minimum wage, none however work for that, most of them are quite well off.
They spend their own millions, (Paladino and Whitman, and Bloomberg), so you know they aren't feeling our pain.
They are against legal abortion, that's predictable, but some of them are also against abortion in cases of rape or incest, a few of them say that it doesn't happen. Most of them also want to get rid of social security, and medicare, without any of them saying what they will replace it with, and many seniors won't know what to do if that happens, the job market is very slim when you are over eighty.
Ron Paul tells us he will tell us after we elect him what it is he plans to do.
I'd like to sell him the same bridge he's trying to sell us.

If that sounds good to you, you are a social conservative, if it sounds crazy as a flea circus, you are sane.
