what are the effects of unblock websites in a university to student,prof,and school?

I am assuming this is for homework so I am only going to give some ideas.

Lets say you are working on homework, then you decide to check your Facebook, then you check your twitter... before you know it you've spent hours doing nothing, using up the internet when others could be using it to be productive.

A teacher is trying to teach the class in a computer lab and a student is watching funny videos online and not paying any attention to the teacher, they could also be distracting everyone around them. They are wasting the teachers time.

Anyone looks up some pornography online and another classmate/teacher sees it, even though everyone is old enough to view it the material is offensive to many people and you are not being productive.

The point of website monitoring in university is to prevent unproductive use of THEIR INTERNET, they don't want you using it unless you need it for school related tasks, and Facebook and porn are not related 99% of the time.

The websites are not actually blocked because in rare cases they are needed for study and there are just too many websites to block. Many schools have a 3 strike policy for these kinds of situations where you lose your internet privileges because it is their internet and you are abusing it.
