When you talk about her reply about her adding you on facebook, did it seem like she was mad at you? What were your conversations like around that time? This all seems a bit iffy because that doesn't seem like enough information. If you two have similar interests I don't see why she wouldn't want to be friends with you.

I agree with Sarah. This stuff should just develop organically, you don't have to force it or spend sleepless hours thinking about it. Truth is with that distance you'll probably never be more than social media buddies- but if either of you relocates things may change.
