search engine marketing is a broad subject. there are many ways to do this. basic simple steps would be to submit your site to as many sites or search engines as possible. research to see where your niche market is, study your competitor's sites. improve your site to make it search engine friendly (or search optimization through basic improvements), build inbound links, work on reciprocal links.
keep researching, there's lot more you can do let me know how it goes, or email if you need any help hope this helps tomas |

Depends if you want to spend money on marketing your site. If you do, look at Adwords and promote it that way.
If you don't have a budget, write articles and submit them to ezinearticles or goarticles. This is a very good method as you'll get targeted traffic to your site. With PPC advertising, once the ad has stopped running the traffic drys up. Marketing takes lots of effort and practice. I promote my websites mainly through article writing.
