I've only been mucking around with it for a couple days but it works pretty well so far.
Its a standalone program that works off of IE. People can use it to view videos, and get more credits if they like, sub, and comment. So its user driven, and youtube doesn't have much to ***** about.

Credits are pretty cheap to buy, or you can make your own by letting it run in the background overnight, and just allocate the view credits to your own video.

Its been the least sketchy solution I've looked into so far, and it IS driving views, likes, subs, and comments to my video!

First of all 4227 subscribers is extremely impressive! I know tons of people that wish they had that many. There are certainly ways that your friend can get more subscribers and gain popularity.

In order to get more subscribers, your friend needs to attract more views to his videos- more views generally equally more subscribers. This also addresses the other issue of gaining popularity. This can be done by promoting it on social media through Facebook and Twitter. Your friend could create a Facebook page for his videos and he could "tweet" about them as well.

Another method that is becoming increasingly popular is purchasing views or subscribers.
