Will the CHI hair straightener make my hair break off?

I have kinda long hair. And I just got the CHI. But I'm deathly afraid that it will burn andcause my hair to break off and be short. Will this happen?

And how about if I use a heat protectent? I got suave heat protectent. Because Im not old enough to get my own money and buy stuff will it work okay?

Yes. Heat & chemicals are hair's worst enemies. The hair industry is a trillion dollar business and they also don't give money back they also DO NOT give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss caused by 'abuse'. Mechanical, chemical, or thermal styling. Hair straighteners and relaxers top the hair products pose the greatest risks. Hair relaxers, related products marketed heavily to African-American women, are dangerous because they may contain powerful chemicals such as lye, a toxic substance also used in drain cleaners. Heat protectant doesn't protect hair 100%. Like using sunscreen, you still get sunburned. Same with hair.
