How to let my parents know I want a twitter?
So, my parents are totally not into the whole social media thing. I'm really not either, I just want a twitter to follow Chad Reed. Anyways, how do I tell them that I REALLY want one? Just last night they were talking about how much they hate Facebook, I know that Twitter and Facebook are two completely different things, but they don't. Please don't tell me to just get one and not tell them, I would never disrespect them in that way.

Write down your reasons for wanting a twitter account, then present it to them without whining or begging, just ask kindly.

I totally agree with poster's (Asher) comment above except take it one step further. Give your parents a set time frame that you will use twitter and stick to it so they can trust you. Also tell them your grades and other things will not be affected by using twitter. Bottom line, its not enough just to plead your case, you have to put the action behind the words. If your parents trust you, they should at least give you the chance to prove it. Good luck.
