Instead, Bush held hands and walked around a garden with the Saudi king and Obama bowed down when introduced.

Saddam would not play by the rules by taking bribes. The Saudi's get a lot of money in bribes from the US and they are pretty effective dictators. Its a business plan.

Because morality has not had anything to do with the West's relations with the Middle East for decades, if not centuries. We do what is in our interests and only that. And then people complain and think they are wicked when they get hacked off with us and take steps.

People, get used to it. In relations with the Middle East we are the bad guys and have been for a long time. All they are doing is fighting back.

Oh, one exception. The USA support the murderous regime in Israel. That is clearly NOT in the West's interests but it keeps happening anyway - and amazingly we (again) whinge when people over there object and (again) take steps.

Are you on some sort of crusade to bring democracy to all the world? The best way to bring the Saudis down is to withdrawal American military aid to them.

In the Arab and Muslim worlds, Saudi Arabia is considered to be pro-Western and pro-American, and it is certainly a long-term ally of the United States.

As a founding member of OPEC, its oil pricing policy has been generally to stabilize the world oil market and try to moderate sharp price movements so as to not jeopardize the Western economies.

Connections to the West have caused some Saudis to desire the overthrow of the Al Saud. Others want a reformed and more open government and to have more influence in the political process. On the other hand, juvenile delinquency, drug-use and use of alcohol are getting worse. High unemployment and a generation of young males filled with contempt toward the Royal Family is a significant threat to Saudi social stability. Some Saudis feel they are entitled to well-paid government jobs, and the failure of the government to satisfy this sense of entitlement has led to considerable dissatisfaction

The Bush family and the Saudis go way back.Besides,Saudi Arabia is willing to play ball with US intentions.Saddam Hussein wasn't.Qadaffi played ball for years, but when he tried to create a new gold-backed currency,he was taken out.If the Saudis ever disagree with the US,they will be labeled as terrorists and taken out.
