Remember that twitter should be used to communicate with your market.

By just selling you will alienate your potential customers and followers.

post a 3 part twitter block 2 times per day. Say 10 and 4

Utilize a service (free) called socialoomph.com which allows you to automate this posting. Meaning you can make your tweets and they will send them out at whatever time you say.

Each block should comprise.

Something topical like "did you see what Brittney Spears did last night on the MTV awards? check it out here"

Something about what you do..."Hey I wrote a post on XYZ pleae go check it out here...

A sales message or free offer. "I'm giving away a free ebook on XYZ here

Promoting your site through twitter is as easy as chatting with your friends. Converse…converse… converse… Yes, you read it right! Conversation is a sure-fire way to promote your site on Twitter.

I personally hate tweets like “Hey, check out my new blog post!” I usually ignore those tweets and I prefer something that ask question first followed by a link to your site which is more appealing, right? It is by asking question that shows your interest to your followers and engages further in the conversation.

Have a relevant 140-character tweets which catches the eye of your target readers. Follow this format in tweeting your blog-promotion tweets:

<tweet><shortened link><hashtag>

For example:
