Hacked twitter account-is this dangerous ?

I have recently got ta direct message- Hey someone is making horrible rumors about you…with a link added (dangerous site-seemed like twitter) from a soprano that i followed ,so i sent her back this message- Hacked or hacker? You sent me this message ... cause i'm pretty sure she has been hacked too.Changed my e-mail adress,deleted all apps except one that officially comes from twitter, found a new strong password, scanned my computer and found an infection but still afraid ... they hacked encryption ... so is it possible that they could use not only my twitter account but also my previous e-mail to send unaware spam mails and get me into trouble or something ? Or even get my other personal infromation? Should i also contact twitter support ?
