i've heard rumours of a new and final series featuring characters from all 3 generations of skins casts... and the series will focus on each generation in different episodes. - not sure when, maybe next year? i hope it's all true

Yes there is going to be a another season of Skins, season 7 but on 8 March 2012, Channel 4 confirmed that Skins will come to an end after the seventh series. Season 7 will featuring characters from all three generations in a six-episode series. The final series is to be broadcast in Spring 2013, with Channel 4 promising "a celebration of this truly iconic series".

Cast member who will and will not be returning

Generation 1

Larissa Wilson (Jal Fazer) confirmed via Twitter that she will not be returning for series 7.

Joe Dempsie has also confirmed in an interview to 1883 Magazine that he won't be returning as Chris Miles as his character died.

Generation 2

Kaya Scodelario has confirmed that she will return as Effy Stonem.

Jack O'Connell (James Cook) has confirmed that he will return.

Klariza Clayton (Karen McClair) has expressed interest in returning.

Ollie Barbieri (JJ Jones) mentioned on his Twitter account that no one had asked him to return.

Luke Pasqualino (Freddie McClair) has confirmed on his Twitter that he will not be returning to series 7 because his character was killed.

Generation 3

Sebastian de Souza (Matty Levan) announced on his Twitter that he will not be in series 7.

Freya Mavor (Mini McGuinness) reportedly said that probably most of Generation 3 would not return for series 7 as their storylines are closed.
