How to advertise an online business?

I am currently founding an online business designed to provide data analytics and business survey research to a wide array of small-scale businesses that would normally be unable to afford such market research. Can anyone suggest some good sites or methods to advertise this business online and attract customers? Serious answers only please. Thank you.

Use the force of social media. Let people know about you. create blogs, twitter, fb page to increase your chance of exposure. Also, encourage people to leave comments on those sites to engage the activity. Nowadays, people do not trust commercials or ads anymore. People would rather believe in comments from other people. Think about it. When you a commercial on TV saying how great a car is, will you 100% believe it. But when you see lots of comments online complimenting the car, you will truely believe it. This is the force of social media.
