What does "Report As Spam" mean?

I'm not just talking about yahoo answers. I'm talking about in every web sites it has report as spam. For example: myspace, facebook, twitter, and etc. Has report as spam. What does it really mean? Any suggestion

well i really dont no but my best guess is that its just a way of some one thinking it may hurt your computer or a virus

People love to post spam. Spam can be many things, and is often religious or political rants or advertisements, abuse of keywords to draw people in, false advertising or scams, or just plain trolling.

it means report it as being Junk , or something that can cause a virus in some cases .

Spam = "Stupid Pointless Annoying Message"
It can be any of the following:
- When someone posts the same message over and over and over again.
- When someone posts a message that doesn't contribute to the topic/ discussion
- When someone posts a one or two word message
