I own a few businesses so it helps me get those out there. Regular life, keeps me connected with friends. I don't like talking on the phone much outside of work. So,... They help.

Positives:
- Helps me stay connected to past friends and professionals
- Good for networking
- Good for developing a professional persona
- Instant connection to people
- Good for sharing stuff

Negatives:
- Can lead to procrastination
- Creates new rules and standards in professional world, some of which are tiresome. Like Twitter at work, etc.
- Self-esteem can be affected after seeing others on Facebook
- Sometimes I feel jealous when a sorority girl writes on my boyfriend's facebook wall
- Too much sharing = lack of privacy
- Facebook = lack of privacy especially with advertisers having access to some demographic information. Also, ads show up based on your interests and status updates.
