How to verify Twitter account?

I want to get the blue check mark beside my name on Twitter, because my YouTube fan base is getting confused on if I'm me or not. I currently have 1070 followers and I'm following 15 people.

It's hard to become verified. You have to be EXTREMELY popular on Youtube or in general for it to work. Basically, if you have a lot of people pretending to be you, or have a large fan base in general, it's relatively simple but if not, you probably won't be able to. There used to be an easier way where you could just submit a form and that's it, but with so many people (regular people, at that) requesting a badge as well, it's a little more difficult. To get verified, you'll have to send a direct message to https://twitter.com/verified and give them personal information about you, to prove you're really you (your name, location, official website(s) if you have any, and any contact information). You may or may not get a reply back, depending on if they approve your request or not.
