How did Ariana Grande & Jai Brooks start dating?

I wasn't following along when it all happened so how did they start dating? I know the Janoskians are popular but i'm sure Ariana didn't just watch one of their videos and be like 'i wanna date him', right?
I mean - how did they start talking and meet etc. You can't simply walk up to a celebrity and ask them out.

They started talking on Twitter, where she followed him and they DMed a lot and just tweeted each other back and forth. Then, they started to "date" even though they hadn't met yet. They just Skyped and whatnot. But on New Years Eve, they met and officially started dating.

Jai had a crush on Ariana for a while and he was tweeting her then the fans got Ariana to notice and she followed him on Twitter. They started DMing and then they were dating online for awhile and then they finally met in person not too long ago.
