how do i email somebody on twitter?

i want to email an actor but i just got twitter, and how do i email him?

If you click on their name, it takes you to their Twitter home page. Look on the right side where it says, "actions." Right under should be a button to click and send a direct message. If it's not there, that person has their direct message ability disabled and you will not be able to send them a private email.
