What are good yet non-expensive ways to advertise for a small business?
I have a small furniture shop in an excellent location, however I would like to expand our publicity. We have a website, Facebook, MySpace, I am in the process of handing out fliers and business cards, etc. What are other ways to bring us much business and just get our good name out into the community?

Well, not just good, but an excellent way is the internet to get alot of exposure. When you say "non-expensive ways" you really have to calculate the cost to buy new clients. First, we all know that people search for Products and Services much much MORE on the 'Internet' than 'Newspaper, phone book, fliers, business cards, etc.'
therefore...
Ex. You pay $500/month for the Yellowpage/Newpaper. If it brought you 2 customer from these ads, it's costed you "$250" per customer ($500 divided by 2).
On the other hand...
Ex. You pay $1000/month for Online Marketing. If it brought you 20 customers from this online ad, it's costed you "$50" per customer ($1000 divided by 20).
Again, Internet Marketing is more effective and efficient.

I hope this helps. Have a nice day.

SEO - Optimize your site for local search. Pay a lot of attention to your content, title tag, description, keywords, links and backlinks.

It's a good idea to make sure your staff looks as professional as possible. Humans are visual creatures, so they're going to remember what they see when they enter your business. It's just as important as the product you produce/service you offer. You can find some really great uniforms for many different purposes at SharperUniforms.com. I hope this helps you out! Good luck with your business!
