someone mentioned me in a tweet does that mean my mobile phone follwers see that tweet?

So I went to a movie and one of my friends my parents don't like was there. They mentioned me in a tweet and my Dad follows me on twitter through text. So whenever I tweet he gets a text. Even though I didn't tweet anything will my dad still get the message because I was mentioned by someone else??? I'm not allowed to hangout with them anymore so that's why I'm worried.
